Abstract:
Children
with auditory deficits resulting from peripheral hearing
loss to auditory processing disorders are frequently
educated in mainstreamed school settings. Children with all
degrees of peripheral hearing loss as well as those with
auditory processing
disorders are participating in mainstreamed classrooms.
Thus, it is incumbent upon the speech-language pathologist
to have an understanding of auditory disorders and their
impact upon speech-language development as well as classroom
performance. The overall goal will be to present the
attendee with information regarding appropriate treatment
strategies for children with auditory disorders.
