As described in the association's by-laws, membership in the Association consists of six classes: Regular Members, Associate Members, Student Members, Student Free Members, Supportive Members and Life Members.

A REGULAR MEMBER HOLDS:  A Master's Degree or equivalent with major emphasis in speech-language pathology, audiology, or speech and hearing science;

- or -

A Master's Degree or equivalent and presents evidence of active research, interest and performance in the field of human communication.

These requirements for election as a Regular Member are waived in cases of those who have maintained their Regular Membership status in the Association without interruption from a date preceding January 1, 1969.

Dues: $115.00 per year.


AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER:
An Associate Member is one who is employed in and /or presents evidence of interest in the field of communication disorders and/or sciences but does not meet the requirements of a Regular Member or a Student Member.

Dues: $93.00 per year.


A STUDENT MEMBER:
A Student Member is one who presents evidence of current full-time matriculation (nine credit hours or more per semester) in a graduate or undergraduate program in speech-language pathology, audiology and
/or speech and hearing science.

Dues: $49.00 per year.


A STUDENT FREE MEMBER:
A Student Free Member is one who presents evidence of current full-time matriculation (nine credit hours or more per semester) as a first-year student in one of New Jersey's Graduate or undergraduate programs in speech-language pathology, audiology.

Dues: $00.00 per year.


A LIFE MEMBER:
A Life Member is a Regular Member who has attained the age of 65 and has held membership for ten consecutive years prior to age 65. Such Regular Members may apply for and, upon approval, receive Life Membership with all privileges of a Regular Member without payment of annual dues.

Dues: $16.00 per year.


A SUPPORTIVE MEMBER:
A Supportive Member is one who represents a vendor or other commercial entity.

Dues: $173.00 per year.


Code of Ethics:
The New Jersey Speech-Language-Hearing Association requires its members to adhere to its Code of Ethics.


Voluntary Contribution to Legislative Councilors:
The Legislative Council is the National policy-making body for the profession. It meets for four days during the ASHA Annual Convention. NJSHA offers $300 to each of four Legislative Councilors from New Jersey to offset their expenses. You are urged to increase support for our Legislative Councilors by making a voluntary contribution. This may be added to your membership dues
