Call To Action

The House of Representatives has passed the Advancing Telehealth Beyond COVID-10 Act of 2022 which will extend Medicare telepractice authority for audiologists and speech-language pathologists through December 31, 2024.  I’d like to ask all NJSHA members to go to the “Take Action” section on the ASHA website and ask their Senators to support the Expanded Telehealth Access Act (HR 2168/S.3193) which would give audiologists and speech-language pathologists permanent authority to provide telehealth services.

In addition, ask your legislators to more fully address Medicare payment cuts to audiologists and speech-language pathologists by supporting the Supporting Medicare Providers Act of 2021 (HR 6020/S 3314) and the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act (HR 3173/S 3018), which would reform the use of prior authorization to prevent Medicare Advantage plans from improperly delaying or denying care provided by audiologists and speech-language pathologists.
