NJSHA Call to Action – Medicare Cuts

We need a minute of your time before September 1, 2022 to avoid cuts to Medicare rates. ASHA has issued a “Call to Action” to address impending cuts to Medicare Part B services in 2023. ASHA has composed a petition in the form of letter to be sent to the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Medicare payments are set to decrease by nearly 4.5 percent for outpatient services provided by audiologists, speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and many other providers, on top of other looming cuts.

Although a short-term fix will require Congressional action, ASHA is asking clinicians to sign a petition calling on CMS to find ways within its own authority to lessen the impact of the cuts and to work with Congress to find solutions to improve the long-term stability of the Medicare payment system.

ASHA is asking all members to review the issue, review the petition and become a signatory by completing the petition by September 1, 2022. ASHA will only include your name and your state in the petition.
