School Affairs Committee (SAC)
The School Affairs Committee (SAC) serves as NJSHA's primary resource for issues affecting school-based speech-language specialists throughout New Jersey. The committee advocates for high-quality speech-language services in schools by monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, collaborating with state agencies and professional organizations, and providing members with current information, resources, and guidance on school-based practice.
SAC works to support speech-language specialists across all stages of their careers. Through educational programs, networking opportunities, member discussions, and advocacy efforts, the committee addresses emerging issues in special education, workload, service delivery, evaluation, eligibility, and professional practice.
SAC also serves as a liaison between NJSHA members, the New Jersey Department of Education, ASHA, and other stakeholders, helping to elevate the voice of speech-language specialists and advance policies that support both clinicians and the students they serve.
Whether you are new to the schools or an experienced practitioner, SAC welcomes your involvement and encourages members to share ideas, ask questions, and participate in shaping the future of school-based speech-language services in New Jersey.
