Committee News

New Speech Language Pathology Treatment Codes 92507  will be replaced by new family of 10 SLP treatment codes. Beginning 1/1/27, there will be five clinical code pairs: one base code and add-on code based on additional minutes for each code.   This will be a more specific report by clinical service and direct treatment time. The add-on code may never be reported by itself.

Five clinical categories include: fluency, speech, language, combination of speech/language, and voice disorders.
This will format will recognize the difference in treatment time and service complexity.

More than one treatment code from the new family of codes may be reported on the same date of service when each service is distinct, medically necessary, and independently meets its time requirements. Although the new codes become effective 1/1/27, implementation may vary by the varying payers in each state for Medicare. State Medicaid programs and commercial health plans may adopt the new codes on different timelines or create their own coverage, payment, and billing policies.

There is an In-Person Workshop on 11/18/26 in Indianapolis, Indiana: New CPT Code Workshop for SLPs for those of you who are interested.
